    Abstract: In a combined population-based and case-control study, exposure to benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX), particularly benzene, concomitant with increased oxidative stress and sphingolipid dysregulation, posed a significant, but differential, risk for current asthma, its severity and phenotypic clusters.
