    Abstract: 本發明係關於一種發炎疾病之診斷方法，及用於該方法的診斷套組。本發明之診斷方法係包含使用一種新穎色胺酸代謝物，5-甲氧基色胺酸(5-methoxytryptophan，5-MTP)，作為炎症反應的診斷標記物。本發明特別提供一種高度特異性競爭式免疫酵素法，藉由測量人類血清中5-MTP濃度以診斷包括敗血病及全身性紅斑性狼瘡等發炎疾病的發生與嚴重程度。
